WHO reports 3,205 attacks on Ukraine's healthcare system since full-scale invasion
Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, 3,205 attacks on healthcare facilities have been carried out, according to WHO Representative for Ukraine Jarno Habicht. In 2026, 20 attacks on warehouses containing humanitarian aid have been recorded, including 13 with medical supplies. WHO faced attacks in Kyiv in July and Dnipro in August, losing significant medicine and equipment intended for 225,000 people. Despite dangers, WHO and partners delivered aid via convoys, provided consultations, and supported the health system. A WHO study found over a quarter of doctors and nurses reported depressive symptoms, and one in five exhibited anxiety. WHO has installed 30 heating systems in medical facilities, with 22 more planned. Authorities report at least 12 civilians killed and over 65 injured in attacks between yesterday and early morning. UNICEF reported a strike on its warehouse in the Kyiv region, destroying supplies. At least six humanitarian warehouses have been impacted this month. The UN Secretary-General condemned the attacks and called for de-escalation and a ceasefire.
