Luger pistol found in Lake Annecy linked to 2012 French Alps murders

French officials are examining a Luger pistol found at the bottom of Lake Annecy that could have been used in the 2012 murders of a British-Iraqi family and a French cyclist. The weapon was recovered by British tourists swimming in the lake on August 20. It shows similarities to the weapon used in the attack, which killed Saad al-Hilli, his wife Iqbal, her mother Suhaila al-Allaf, and French cyclist Sylvain Mollier. The couple's two daughters survived. The case has been investigated for over a decade, with potential motives including al-Hilli's past in Iraq and his work.
