Israeli forces arrest former Lion's Den militant in Nablus

In a covert overnight operation, Israeli Border Police (YAMAM) officers arrested a 37-year-old wanted man in Nablus, who was formerly affiliated with the Palestinian militant group 'Lion's Den' (Gev Ha'Arayot). The arrest was based on intelligence from the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet). The suspect is believed to have continued promoting terrorist activity and attempts to carry out attacks against Israelis. No injuries were reported among the forces. The suspect was transferred for further questioning by the Shin Bet. The Lion's Den is a Palestinian militant organization that emerged in Nablus in 2022, primarily among young men from the Old City, some of whom were previously associated with Fatah, Hamas, and Islamic Jihad. The group operated across factions and claimed responsibility for several shooting attacks and attempted attacks against soldiers and Israelis in the Nablus area. In 2022, the IDF and Shin Bet acted against the group, killing and arresting several of its leaders and significantly degrading its capabilities. Since then, security forces have continued to arrest and thwart militants from the group.
