Israeli court extends detention of suspected Ashdod delivery monopoly figure Eyal Nager

In a hearing at an Israeli court, police argued that Eyal Nager's delivery company 'Mr. Delivery' attempted to become a monopoly in Ashdod, with investigation revealing suspicions of extortion and threats. Defense attorney Ben Natan challenged the monopoly claim, noting the company had only 20-30 clients out of hundreds of businesses. However, Judge Yaniv Ben Harush ruled that the evidentiary basis had strengthened, citing four significant pieces of evidence, and extended Nager's detention by one week. The judge noted that over 250 investigative actions had been conducted, with more than 100 remaining, and that some evidence could be tampered with. Nager, considered a prominent crime figure in southern Israel since the killing of his former boss Benny Shlomo in 2022, was allowed a phone call with one of his children.
