Privacy Policy

DoseFix provides a multilingual view of developing news events. This policy explains what information we process when you use the service.
Information we collect
- Account information: when you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, profile image, and a Google account identifier. We never receive your Google password.
- Your activity: comments, replies, reactions, event votes, follows, and source or factual-update submissions.
- Approximate location: only when you choose Nearby, your browser asks for location access. DoseFix rounds the coordinates before using them to find events within the nearby radius, sends that request without your account session, and does not store the coordinates.
- Technical information: session cookies and limited request, device, and security logs needed to operate and protect the service.
How we use information
We use this information to authenticate you, deliver and localize DoseFix, show location-relevant alerts when you request them, operate discussions and voting, prevent abuse, investigate reliability issues, and improve the service. We do not sell personal information or use Google account data for advertising.
News processing and service providers
DoseFix uses Google Cloud to host the application and database. News-source content—and source material submitted for verification—may be processed by our language-model provider, DeepSeek, for classification, extraction, clustering, summarization, and translation. Google account profile data is not intentionally included in those news-processing prompts.
Cookies and retention
We use a secure session cookie to keep you signed in. Account and contribution records are retained while needed to provide the service, preserve conversation integrity, meet legal obligations, and prevent abuse. Operational logs are retained for a limited period appropriate to security and reliability.
Sharing and your choices
Public contributions may display your chosen profile name and image. We share data with service providers only as needed to operate DoseFix or when legally required. You can sign out at any time and may request access to or deletion of your account information by contacting us.
Security, children, and changes
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no online service is completely secure. DoseFix is not directed to children under 13. We may update this policy as the service changes and will revise the effective date above.
